William Charriat is a family winery deeply rooted in the historic wine region of Irancy. With a lineage spanning over four centuries, the estate has evolved from a mixed farming enterprise to specializing in viticulture in the 1970s. Today, they proudly cultivate 18 hectares of vineyards.
The winery’s production centers around the renowned Pinot Noir grape, responsible for crafting some of Burgundy’s finest wines. Additionally, they devote a small portion to the cultivation of César, a traditional grape variety synonymous with the Irancy appellation since Gallo-Roman times.
Following traditional winemaking practices, William Charriat produces wines that embody the unique character of Irancy. The grapes are whole-cluster fermented, and the wines are aged without the use of new oak barrels, allowing the terroir and grape varietals to express themselves fully.
