GRAPEVINE WINE BROKERS

Domaine Vincent & François Jouard

Domaine Vincent &  François Jouard is a family-run winery located in the esteemed Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy. The estate, with a history dating back to before 1820, was taken over by the Jouard brothers in 1990, and they have since become custodians of some of the finest vineyard holdings in Chassagne, boasting some of the oldest vines.

Spanning eleven hectares of vineyards, the estate primarily focuses on producing white wines, which make up 95% of their production, with a smaller portion dedicated to red Chassagne-Montrachet. Vincent oversees the vineyard work, while François, as the winemaker, carefully crafts the wines.

Maintaining a deep connection to their roots and the importance of their inherited soil, the Jouard brothers prioritize sustainable viticulture practices and extensive plowing to avoid chemical interventions. The vineyards are under reasoned control, and manual harvesting ensures the selection of only the finest grapes. Vieilles Vignes (old vines) is a consistent feature on their labels, as their estate bottlings exclusively utilize vines averaging over 50 years old.

In the cellar, François employs traditional winemaking methods, including the use of indigenous yeasts and aging the wines in oak barrels, with one-third of the barrels being new for most wines (except Batard). This meticulous and artisanal approach allows the true expression of their exceptional terroir to shine through in each bottle crafted by Domaine Vincent & François Jouard.
