Domaine Michel Juillot

Located in Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise, the prestigious Domaine Michel Juillot has been a family endeavor for five generations, spanning 31 hectares of vines, showcasing a diverse range of the finest “climats” from Mercurey and Côte de Beaune Crus. Founded in 1928, the estate boasts 21 hectares of Pinot Noir and 10 hectares of Chardonnay, producing an impressive 180,000 bottles across more than twenty appellations, including esteemed Premiers and Grands Crus. A significant historical connection is tied to the domain, as Michel’s grandfather played a pivotal role in delineating Mercurey’s boundaries. Their wines, masterfully crafted by Michel and his son Laurent Juillot, have earned acclaim from numerous Michelin-starred restaurants and garnered various prestigious awards and accolades. In pursuit of excellence, the winery adopted a vertical press in 2007, resulting in remarkably smooth tannins without bitterness. In recent years, they’ve embarked on identifying indigenous yeasts unique to each plot, enhancing the distinct character of their wines. Employing gravity during vatting preserves the inherent fruitiness potential, culminating in a portfolio of exceptional Burgundian wines.
