Domaine Girard, run by brothers Anthony and David Girard, is a family winery with a rich heritage. Originally created by their great-grandfather Serge Renard, the domaine is situated in the Monts Damnés region of France. The vineyards are located in Sury-en-Vaux and Menetou-Râtel, with three hectares of vines that are now 70 years old.
The Girard family has a deep commitment to maintaining the tradition of handcrafted winemaking. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand, and fermentations are conducted using neutral yeasts. The wines produced at Domaine Girard reflect the unique terroir of the Monts Damnés, characterized by Kimmeridgian marl soils.
Aurore Dezat, David’s spouse, also plays a significant role in the winemaking process. She runs Domaine des Chasseignes, a farm inherited from her grandfather, located in Sury-en-Vaux. Aurore’s ecological approach is reflected in the estate’s 9.5 hectares of vineyards, which predominantly consist of Sauvignon Blanc.
Together, the Girard brothers and Aurore Dezat have expanded their family estates and united their winemaking endeavors. Their wines have gained recognition, earning accolades in competitions and attracting the attention of specialized publications.
