Domaine Bernard & Thierry Glantenay, nestled in the enchanting Côte de Beaune, is renowned for producing exquisite Volnay and powerful Pommard wines from some of the region’s finest terroirs. Thierry Glantenay, an accomplished winemaker, took over the family domaine, joining his brother Bernard in crafting exceptional wines. With only 7 hectares of vineyards, they cultivate and make their wines meticulously, ensuring top-notch quality.
Thierry’s engineering background and meticulous nature result in precise, focused wines that truly reflect their terroir. Utilizing no more than twenty-five percent new oak, his wines showcase pure fruit and delicate framing while preserving the essence of each vineyard. Sustainable viticulture is at the core of their practices, employing minimal chemicals and hand-harvesting to preserve the grapes’ health.
The domaine spans across Volnay, Pommard, and Puligny-Montrachet, benefitting from limestone and clay soils, as well as a temperate climate with continental influences. The reds made from Pinot Noir exhibit finesse and lightness, especially the Volnay appellation wines, often considered the most feminine in Burgundy. Their Premier Cru white wine from Puligny-Montrachet, crafted solely from Chardonnay, adds a touch of elegance to their diverse portfolio.
