GRAPEVINE WINE BROKERS

Dom Dominique et Janine Crochet

Domaine Crochet Dominique et Janine is situated in the heart of Sancerrois, specifically in the wine-growing village of Bué. As a family vineyard with several generations of winemaking expertise, they cultivate 12 hectares of vineyards, including 8.5 hectares of Sauvignon for white Sancerre production and 3.5 hectares of Pinot Noir for red and rosé Sancerre.

The domaine practices sustainable viticulture with an organic inclination, prioritizing the respect of their plants and terroirs. They embrace different types of soils and showcase the diversity of terroirs through their various cuvées, such as “les caillotes,” “limestone,” and “clay-limestone” (Kimmeridgian marls).

Following the passing of their father Dominique, Teddy and Cyprien, the fifth-generation growers, have taken charge of managing the domaine. With notable holdings in vineyards like Chene Marchand, Grand Chemarin, Champ Chêne, and the steep southeast-exposed La Côte de Bué, they uphold a commitment to expressing the fruit and character of their well-tended old vines.

The domaine predominantly employs stainless steel tanks for vinifying their white wines, allowing the fruit and floral notes derived from the rich and complex soils to shine through. Hand harvesting is conducted for all single-vineyard selections, and indigenous yeasts are used for reds, which undergo a light clay filtration before bottling.
