GRAPEVINE WINE BROKERS

Anselma Giacomo

Anselma Giacomo is a historic winery situated in the prestigious Serralunga d’Alba area of the Langhe region in Piedmont, Italy. Founded in the early 20th century, the estate has been nurtured through generations, maintaining a profound respect for traditional winemaking practices. The legacy began with Felice Anselma, who held a strong belief in the natural selection conferred by the unique geographical position of their vineyards. His conviction that exceptional wines require outstanding grapes laid the foundation for the estate’s philosophy—a legacy carried on by his son Giaculin and now passionately upheld by his grandson, Franco Anselma, and Franco’s wife, Maria.

The Anselma family owns parcels of vineyards in the area of Serralunga d’Alba, known for its calcareous clay soil and mild, grape-friendly climate. One of these vineyards is part of the illustrious VignaRionda site, referred to as a “Premier Grand Cru” in recognition of its exceptional quality. Here, meticulous attention is given to vineyard management to ensure the health and richness of the soil, and thereby the quality of grapes harvested.

Under Franco and Maria’s stewardship, Anselma Giacomo remains dedicated to crafting authentic red wines exclusively from native Langhe grapes. Their flagship wine, the Barolo VignaRionda Riserva, is a testament to this dedication—it is a product of the grapes meticulously harvested from their prized VignaRionda hillside vineyard. Each sip of Anselma Giacomo’s wines is imbued with the character and history of a family deeply connected to their land and their craft.

"With patience you get a great wine which has no rivals."
