Domaine de la Tour Penet is a historic 11-hectare winery located in the heart of the Mâconnais region. The estate has been in the Ferret family since 1872 when Francois Ferret purchased it from Mr. De Contenson, who acquired it in 1848 from the renowned poet Alphonse Lamartine.
The vineyards, composed mainly of limestone soil, boast 50 to 70-year-old vines that are carefully handpicked. Under the skillful guidance of winemaker Anne Ramonet, daughter of the Ferrets and former spouse of Jean Claude Ramonet, the wines are crafted with expertise and finesse.
Anne Ramonet, having learned from her previous experience and formal wine education, transformed the family business from a mere grape supplier to a distinguished wine producer. Her approach results in superbly balanced wines that showcase the essence of the terroir and reflect her expertise as a winemaker.
From primarily 11 hectares of Chardonnay, along with some Gamay, Domaine de la Tour Penet wines captivate with a true representation of the region and the winemaker’s skill. With a history steeped in family heritage and a dedication to quality winemaking, the estate continues to thrive as a cherished custodian of the Mâconnais wine tradition.
