GRAPEVINE WINE BROKERS

Domaine des Moirots

Domaine des Moirots is a family-owned estate that has been producing wine since 1980 by Lucien Denizot and his father, Léon. Situated in the picturesque village of Bissey-sous-Cruchard in the southern part of Côte Chalonnaise, the winery boasts 15 hectares of vineyards encompassing 12 appellations, crafting Régionale, Village, and Premier Cru wines.

Christophe Denizot, who studied at the Lycée Viticole in Beaune, now leads the estate after joining his father, Lucien, in 1990. The family owns half of the total 9 hectares of Montagny Premier Cru “Le Vieux Château” vineyards, known for their Kimmeridgian soil under limestone, akin to Chablis.

With a strong commitment to sustainability, the grapes are hand-picked, carefully sorted, and destemmed. The red grapes undergo fermentation in concrete vats without heating, lasting around 12 to 15 days. The free-run wine and press wine are blended before aging in concrete “eggs” or oak barrels for 10 to 18 months, depending on the vintage and cuvée.

"Each vintage is a discovery."
